Cost Of Solar Plant

A solar photovoltaic (PV) system cuts your energy bills and pay for itself over time. A buyer expects to recover the cost in few years (called payback period) and there after get FREE electricity for up to 25 years life of the system. A good system can recover your investment cost in 5 to 6 years where as a low quality system may take much longer, 8 to 10 years. No doubt, Tier-1 solar panels and inverters from top global brand are more expensive. Still buying from top brands is a necessity not because these such solar systems offer more luxury or features, but because you get a higher returns on your investments.

Cost per Kilowatt of an On-grid solar plant varies a lot depending on whether the components sourced are from top tier-1 brands or from cheaper sources. System with cheap components are risky as it will not generate desired level of solar electricity and the performance keeps on falling at a faster pace every year. Since solar systems are expected to perform for 25 years,  a system with low grade components will not generate good return on your investment and may even fail.  Cost also depends on the type of wires, connectors, earthing kit and also on warranty and the quality of after-sales service. Cost also depends on size of the solar plant. A mega-watt scale plant costs much cheaper (per kilowatt) compared to a 50 KW or a 10 KW system.

Solar panels work best when they’re north facing, pointed directly at the sun, at an optimal angle and not blocked by trees or shading. The effectiveness of solar panels also depends on where you live and the weather.

Which solar system installer should you choose?

There are about 500 solar companies in India doing solar integration, majority of these companies are integrators and not original manufacturers. Integration is an important set of activities in the solar energy value chain. There are several engineering considerations in successful integration and delivery of a solar plant. A cheap quality installation do not deliver optimum output and result in poor performance in the 25 years life of a solar system.

Nextjoule is a system integrator, we have highly trained, MNRE / original manufacturer certified solar engineers to design a system according customer’s specific site requirements. We source components from global tier-1 original manufacturers (like  Sungrow, SMA, ABB, Schneider Electric, Trina, TATA) at the lowest rate, integrate and install the system strictly as per the engineering design and quality requirements.
