Under Open Access, Nextjoule supplies power to industries and bulk consumers having more than 1 MW connected load from off-site solar park using state transmission system. The solar power is supplied under a Power Purchase Agreement under OPEX model. The client agrees to purchase power at a tariff which is lower than the Grid tariff for a PPA term which is 10 to 25 years duration. Open access projects are economically more sustainable given the economies of scale as benefits can be achieved by aggregating loads of multiple consumers. Open Access policies in India are decided by the state utility.
